 Heavily chased with floral decoration. The spout features a man's face, presumably Bacchus (Dionysus), the god of wine. The piece carries hallmarks for Edinburgh, 1861 and measures 27cm in height. The handle has ivory breakers.

 Hallmarked in London, 1879 by Steven Smith, this striking, Victorian, antique silver wine ewer, features a wonderful cast and applied frieze around the middle, a snake finial to the lid, and an engraved coat of arms to the front. The wine ewer measures 15 inches (38cm) tall, by 6 inches (15.5cm) from handle to side, and weighs 41.2 troy ounces.
