David Shure prides itself as one of the original steadfast Silver Dealers situated in the world famous London Silver Vaults, specializing in some of the finest antique Silverware, Old Sheffield Plate and cutlery in the World.

As the Director of 'The School of Fine Arts' in London, lecturing both in England and abroad, David Shure's name became widely recognized in the Antique trade as an established authority on the Silver of Hester Bateman. Entering the London Silver Vaults as a young man, Shure developed an interest in Bateman Silver, thus leading him to publish the first work on the art, and history of the great Georgian Silversmith and the members of her family “Hester Bateman- Queen of English Silversmiths”, a volume of great importance in the field of Antique Silver.

David Shure has recently been taken over by I Franks, who are already established within the Silver Vaults specializing in old and antique English silver and silver-plate, with an emphasis on tableware, teasets, cutlery, epergnes, candlesticks and candelabra.

Whilst modernising, and completely refurbishing the showroom, I Franks have kept the original character of David Shure, acknowledged as one of the most admired Silver Dealers in his field.

Situated in the heart of Chancery Lane, London's legal district, The London Silver Vaults famously holds the largest collection of Antique Silver in the world, making the location a focal point for collectors, traders, dealers and visitors as well as one of London's unique shopping experiences.

The history of the vaults dates back to 1882, when The Chancery Lane Safe Deposit Company opened for the purpose of safe-guarding private possessions and documents of the wealthy and elite. During the Second World War the building above the vaults was destroyed, and was replaced with the site now known, throughout the world, as The London Silver Vaults.

With over 50 dealers in silverware & object-d'art trading from individual vaults within this location, The London Silver Vaults is a wonderful site to visit with items ranging from 10 pounds to 1,000,000 pounds, with dealers at the vaults supplying silver to the public for over 50 years.
